Hand and Footprint Turkeys

I’m used to seeing colorful turkey hand prints  but I thought a combination of a foot and hand print would look cute as a turkey.

Supplies:

  • Card stock/construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush

Directions:

First paint your child’s hand with brown paint on the palm and colorful paints on the fingers.  We used red and yellow for our feathers but rainbow colors look just as pretty, so be creative.  Then gently press your child’s hand onto the paper.  It looks better if the child spreads their fingers apart.  You can see the difference in how my son’s turkey looks vs. my daughter’s turkey.

Do the same for the foot in a brown color.
After the prints are dry, cut each one out.  Cut out an orange triangular beak and a peanut shaped turkey wattle in red. (Did you know that’s what it is called?  I had no clue till I wrote this!).  Glue these and some googly eyes onto the foot.  And then glue the foot to the hand print.
Paste these onto a Fall colored paper and write a Thanksgiving message at the top, and enjoy!
