Nutella Banana Ice Cream

Have you ever watched your bananas sit on the counter, browning away and you think to yourself…just a couple more days and they’ll be perfect for banana bread or muffins?  However, when that day finally comes, you just find yourself too busy?  It’s happened to me quite a few times, and I hate that I have to toss them in the garbage.  Well, waste no more!  I stumbled upon this wonderful 2 ingredient recipe using bananas and Nutella!

Ingredients:

  • Bananas
  • Nutella (or peanut butter)
  • Milk (optional)
  • Walnuts (optional)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

Peel your banana and slice it up.  Put it in a container or zip lock baggie and freeze.  It will probably take 2-3 hours.

Grab your frozen bananas and some Nutella…

and add them to your blender or food processor.

If you want to make some chunky monkey ice cream…add some walnuts

and some mini chocolate chips.  The kids wanted to add a spash of milk too so that it would be creamier.

Wallah!  You have some yummy Nutella banana ice cream!

We also made smoothies out of this by adding more milk.

I left out the measurements to this recipe because I honestly think that each person should make this according to their own taste.  I went to many websites to see if there were any recipes that were consistently the same measurements, but I found them to all be different.  The kids and I did small taste tests while we made this and the kids decided if they thought it needed more Nutella or more milk.  So I’ll leave you with some websites that I checked out during my search.
