Did you know that okra is great for stamping beautiful flowers? I’ve only eaten okra once in my life, and it was at a Cracker Barrel in North Carolina…so I’ve never actually prepared it myself. I had no idea okra had a hidden beauty in it, until I found this wonderful idea on This is Love Forever through Pinterest.

- Okra
- Paper
- Paint
- Sponge (optional)
Directions:
This first step is optional but I highly recommend it. A girlfriend of mine told me about this wonderful technique that is great for doing finger print painting or any type of stamp painting. Your prints won’t come out looking as good when the kids saturate the okra in paint, so this will help minimize the amount of paint they put on it. All you need to do is take a sponge and cut it up into however many pieces you please. I’m sure I could have cut it up into 8 pieces…but I settled for four today.
Then let your child stamp away. For this craft I cute out the letter “F” from construction paper and we learned that “F” is for flowers.

Here is a close-up of her stamping…as you can see on the bottom left corner she tried to experiment and use it like a paint brush.
