I can’t believe that it’s been a year since I started this blog! I just want to say a big thank you to all my wonderful followers! When I started this blog all I wanted to do was to share some easy and fun activities, crafts and recipes that people could do with their kids…never did I expect the number of followers I have, nor did I expect to meet other wonderful kid bloggers around the world. It’s been an amazing journey! We hope to continue our journey on a regular basis again soon since our busy summer is winding down. We hope you will stay tuned. 😉
Meanwhile I just decorated my very first cake with fondant! I wanted to bake a special cake for my 1st blogiversary. And so I asked a friend of mine, who has been teaching herself how to decorate cakes with fondant, to help me out. She ended up encouraging me to enter a cake decorating contest that she wanted to enter on Threadcakes.com. I was a little skeptical in my ability to actually replicate a design from their huge gallery of designs (if you take a look at some of the artwork you will see why). But we sat down and looked through all the images and I ended up finding a couple that I thought I could replicate. I ended up choosing “Skyrides” because I thought it was adorable. It’s not a perfect duplicate of the photo, but since it is the first fondant cake that I’ve attempted to make, I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on myself. 😉 I definitely had a fun time making this cake, and I learned so much from my friend.
